About the Job

Our Data Protection Officer will be responsible for the development of the company's privacy compliance in Thailand by initiating the strategies and regulations for risk-based yet business-driven data protection and privacy policy. You will advise on legal, operational and technical risks and put in place mitigating controls while leveraging our data analytics and AI capabilities and tools.

What are the responsibilities of a Data Protection Officer?
In this role, you will get to:

Review whether the processing of personal data by the Data Controllers or the Data Processors comply with PDPA
Develop full-cycle PDPA-based regulatory guidelines for each of our tech and non-tech teams
Implement an awareness training program across the organization to develop our staff of all levels to work internally and externally in the best practice regarding Data Protection
Be the forefront person who communicates with the external or third party's PDPA auditors
Initiate an internal audit program for Data Protection
Work directly with the board of executives, legal team, and IT Specialist team

Requirements for this role are:

A university or bachelor degree in law or any other relevant domain
3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in data protection and privacy in a law firm and/or professional services firm
Out-of-the-box thinking to help address the data protection and privacy challenges
Good knowledge and understanding of core data protection and privacy concepts as well as the link to information security
The ability to build and lead multidisciplinary teams
Performing analysis and research on a variety of regulatory and technical topics
Proven experience of implementation of ISO27001
Strong cross-cultural communication skills
Experience in drafting reports, executive summaries and presentations
Ability to plan and execute projects with a focus on quality and positive client experience
Fluent in English, both conversational and Legal English
